Kermit Arthur Jacobson, known as “Jake” to friends and family, was born on May 26, 1936 in Seely Township, Minnesota. The son of Agnes and Arthur Jacobson, he grew up in Bricelyn, Minnesota with his sister, Beverly Johnson (now of Edina, Minnesota) and his brother, Ronald Jacobson. Kermit served in the U.S. Army, then worked as an electronic technician and customer service manager for RCA in New Jersey and Information International Incorporated in Culver City, California. He enjoyed golfing, traveling, building, watching baseball and football, and spending time with friends and family. Kermit passed away on March 9, 2021, in Auburn, California following a long illness. He was 84. He was laid to rest at Elster Memorial Cemetery in Grass Valley, California, on March 15, 2021 following a family service at Hooper and Weaver Mortuary in Nevada City, California. Kermit is survived by his loving wife of nearly 54 years, Carol Hoffman Jacobson, his children, Denise Jacobson of Sacramento, California, Susan (Rob) Leland of Arlington, Virginia, Kurt (Kyra) Jacobson of Aurora, Colorado, his six grandchildren, Jason and Evan Glover, Jacob and Erin Leland, Kaylee and Kaja Jacobson, his sister Beverly, and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, his brother Ronald and sister-in-law Delores Jacobson of Bricelyn, Minnesota, and his brother-in-law Donald A. Johnson of Edina, Minnesota. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Habitat for Humanity or The American Lung Association.
