Gladys Louise Roark Glatt
January 13, 1923 to May 8, 2021
Gladys was born in Delaware, OK, and was one of 7 children. Her family faced poverty and hardships during the depression years.
As a young teen, her family moved to CA to pursue work for the war effort. Despite the indignities of being told “Okie, go home,” the family persevered. Gladys met Dorothy Wardell Stevens, who would become her lifelong friend, and later met her future husband, Robert Glatt.
Her deep faith in God sustained her throughout her life. She lived and prayed daily for those known and unknown to her. She always told others to “just be kind,” which was a powerful reflection of her. She was generous and kind.
Gladys had a career as office support staff in private and State employment. She was pre-deceased by her son, Clifton Robert, and is survived by son William Lee and daughter, Linda Louise Brown, 6 grandchildren, and 4 great-grandchildren.
Graveside services will be held for family and close friends in Grass Valley on May 21, 2021.
