Michael Phillips Trickey, 62, of Grass Valley, CA, passed away on March 28, 2022, surrounded by loving family after a short battle with cancer. Michael was born November 6, 1959, in San Jose, CA, the son of Howard Lee Trickey and Sally Ann Smith. Michael married Georgia Ruth Mioduszewski on October 18, 1992, in South Lake Tahoe. They were married almost thirty years and had two wonderful children, Arianna Phillips Trickey and Frank Lee Trickey. Michael worked as a house painter for over three decades and established his own business, Michael Trickey Painting which served the Northern California Foothills community. Michael was also an extremely talented musician, founding and playing in bands throughout the decades in and around Northern California. He was a songwriter, a singer, a guitarist, and a harmonica player. Michael performed in the Moon Dogs, Face to Face, Renegade, Legba, the Lost Perots, and the Johnsons, among others. Michael will always be remembered for his quick wit, sense of humor, and easy-going personality. He had many friends and was always willing to lend a hand to anyone who needed it. Remaining to cherish Michael’s memory are his wife, Georgia; children, Arianna (husband Quinn) and Frank (wife Cheyenne); brothers, Stephen (wife Rebeckah) and Scott (wife Jennifer); sister, Elise (husband Ken); aunts, Brooke and Sue; cousins, Mimi and Eddie; nieces and nephews, Sara, Caitlyn, Kiera, Rynne, and Blake; and his lifelong friends. Preceding Michael in death are his parents, Howard and Sally, and cousin, Vince. Memorial services will be held on May 13 at 1 pm at Seaman’s Lodge in Nevada City, CA. In lieu of cut flowers, please consider bringing potted flowers to be placed in Michael’s memorial garden.
