Rosemary Anne (Jubenville) Besaw
1949 – 2022
Rosemary Anne (Jubenville) Besaw, loving wife and mother of three, passed away on Sunday, October 9, 2022, at the age of seventy-three in Grass Valley, CA.
Rosemary was born in Manchester, CT in April 1949 to Thomas and Alveda Jubenville, the second of three children. She attended Manchester HS and was also a nurse’s aide before going to work as a data entry operator supervisor for the CT Department of Social Services.
In June 1975, she married her husband, Wes, and immediately became a Navy wife. They departed for Bremerton, WA where her husband rejoined his ship’s company. In April 1976 they were relocated to San Diego, CA. After his/their enlistment was over, in 1978, they moved to Merrimack, NH to begin raising their family. In July 1989 the family moved to Southern California for 11 years and then on to Northern California for the last 22 years where she participated in St. Patrick’s choir and was a schoolyard supervisor at Mount Saint Mary’s for several years. In between time she enjoyed movies, word search puzzles, Yahtzee, and knitting.
Rosemary leaves behind her husband of 47 years, Wes, and children, daughters Mel (Besaw) Schmittroth of Astoria, NY, Susan (Besaw) Roberts of Orange County, CA, and son, Jason Besaw of Grass Valley, CA, along with eight grandchildren. In addition she leaves behind a sister, Elizabeth Tamsin, of Manchester, CT.
She was preceded in death by her both her parents and brother, Paul Jubenville.
For at least the last 8 years Rosemary suffered from an uncommon disease known as polymyositis, which is a rare inflammatory autoimmune disease characterized by degenerative changes in both skeletal and internal muscles.
