Doris E. Olson died on March 3rd, 2023 in Grass Valley. She was 89 years of age.

A Celebration of Life service for Doris E. Olson will be held at the Nevada City chapel of Hooper and Weaver Mortuary on Friday, March 24th at 10:00 a.m. Burial will follow at Greenwood Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Grass Valley.

Mrs. Olson was born in White, South Dakota on November 8th, 1933. She married Wallace Olson on February 5th, 1952. Mrs. Olson worked at Spring Hill Manor Rehabilitation & Convalescent Hospital and Sierra Nevada Hospital in Grass Valley.
Upon her retirement she actively volunteered as a Pink Lady at Golden Empire Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. She was a charter member of Peace Lutheran Church in Grass Valley and over the years had participated in many of the churches programs.

She is survived by her daughters and sons-in-law Geraldine and James Peterson and Dorene and Thomas Rutherford; sons and daughters-in-law Donald and Danielle Olson and Dale and Dana Olson. Also survived by a sister, Marilyn Romsdahl, of Seattle Washington. She had seven grandchildren and five great grandchildren.

Arrangements are under the care of Hooper and Weaver Mortuary.
