Marcia Lynn Kuhl passed from this life peacefully on January 16, 2023, after a 2-year battle with pancreatic cancer. She was 75. Aided by her faith, her strength, bravery, and sense of humor throughout her treatment were amazing.
Marcia was a 4th generation Californian born on May 27, 1947 in Lodi to Vernon and Marion Kuhl. She graduated from Lodi High School in 1965, received her AA from Delta College and attended Sacramento State University.
Marcia bought her first house in Sacramento as a “single woman”. She also rode her motorcycle across the United States to live in Virginia for 7 years. Both were very uncommon for young women at that time.
The next phase of Marcia’s life brought her back to Burlingame, CA where she lived with her mother. In 1988, when her mom retired, they bought a home outside Nevada City. They were greeted with 4 feet of snow on the day they moved in.
Marcia traveled with her mom to all the California Missions, Alaska and Hawaii. They drove across the United States on I-80 and returned on I-10 stopping
to see everything along the way. They toured the New England states to see the fall colors. Marcia loved Alaska and vacationed there numerous times. She had
many more adventures, some with other family members or friends.
Marcia was a lifelong member of the American Legion Auxiliary Lodi Unit #22. She was also a devoted fan of the SF 49ers, SF Giants, Oregon Ducks and Nascar.
Marcia’s greatest joys were her family and her love of dogs. She rescued many dogs including two Husky puppies. She had them flown from Alaska to live
a long happy life with her. Marcia will be stopping at the Rainbow Bridge on her final journey.
Marcia blessed her family with her wisdom, sense of humor, generosity, and love. She treated her friends with kindness and humor. Loved by her sisters, nieces, nephews, cousins and many more, Marcia will be greatly missed by her family and all who knew her.
