Diane Lynn Livingston passed away, surrounded by her family, on February 15, 2023. She was shy of her 80th birthday. For those that knew Diane, you will agree she was simply unforgettable. She was born and raised in the San Francisco Bay Area and attended high school at Lincoln High in Stockton, CA. She graduated from San Jose State University with a bachelor’s degree in Sociology and later returned to SJSU to earn her teaching credential. Diane was fluent in Spanish and she had a diverse career which included teaching English as a Second Language, interior landscape design, and finally a Vocational Rehabilitation Counselor. After raising her children in the Willow Glen neighborhood of San Jose, and retiring from the California Department of Rehabilitation, she moved to Grass Valley in 2002. She became emersed in the community, volunteering for multiple local initiatives. Diane loved gardening, art and enjoyed the beautiful parks and hiking trails in the area. Diane is survived by her children: Dave (Allison), Mike (Deirdre). Her legacy will live on through her grandchildren: Noah, Ryan (Kaila), Sydney, Abby. Diane will be profoundly missed by her family and friends, and she will live forever in our hearts. A Celebration of Life will be May 13, 2023, at 12:00.
