Linda Joyce Moyer passed away on Saturday, October 7, 2023, at home in Grass Valley, California, surrounded by her immediate family.  She had battled ovarian cancer for 10 years and succumbed to her cancer at age 74.

Memorial services will be held on Friday, October 20, 2023, at 11:00 am at Hooper and Weaver Funeral Chapel followed by a short graveside service.

Linda Joyce Lee was born on November 11, 1948, in her grandmother’s house in Menard, Texas to Admal George & Pauline Burnelle Lee.  She was their second child and only daughter.  She lived in Texas with her parents and two brothers, Dwan & Ricky, until age four when they moved to southern California, eventually settling in Banning.  Linda attended primary, middle & high school in Banning, graduating in 1966.  While in high school she was a part of the drill team and began working alongside her mother as an automobile dealership bookkeeper, a job she returned to off and on for 54 years.  Linda met the love of her life, Ken Moyer, and married him on May 3rd, 1975.  In May of 1977, Linda accepted Jesus as her Lord & Savior and began serving her church.  After years of infertility, Linda gave birth to their oldest daughter, Sarah in 1981 at age 32, then again gave birth to their youngest daughter, Rebekah in 1989 at age 41.  In 1994, the Moyer family moved to Auburn in northern California, and settled in Grass Valley, California in 1996 when Ken & Linda bought their property.  Ken & Linda worked on plans for a house, and Ken built Linda’s dream house where she lived the rest of her life.  Linda was diagnosed with stage 4 ovarian cancer in 2013, and despite that diagnosis, she lived her life to the fullest, spending as much time with her family as possible and traveling to see family & friends in Kansas, Texas, Washington and making multiple trips to one of her favorite places, the Colorado River in Arizona.

Linda enjoyed adventure and the outdoors.  She enjoyed waterskiing and working in her rose and vegetable gardens in the summers and riding motorcycles and celebrating the holidays in the winters.  She also enjoyed spending time with her family, and put her whole heart into bettering their lives.

Linda was a fighter all of her life.  She used to tell stories of fighting with her brothers as a young girl.  She fought to get her daughter medical care when she was told not to bother, and refused to take “No” for an answer.  She sometimes fought with co-workers or bosses if they were doing something she believed was unethical.  And she fought her hardest against cancer for the past 10 years.

Linda is survived by her husband of 48 years, Ken Moyer of Grass Valley.  Two daughters, Sarah Darling of Auburn and Rebekah Moyer of Grass Valley.  Grandsons Ethan Nickle and Patrick Darling.  Two brothers, Dwan and Ricky Lee.  Nieces Michelle Webster and Kellie Vasquez.  Nephews Dwan Jr., Cory and Ricky Lee Jr.  Great nieces Paulina Luna, Macy Webster, Bella & Emmy Vasquez, Grace, Karly, Abby & Riley Lee.  Great nephews Danny Webster III, Dayton & Carlos Vasquez, Liam, Admal and Otis Lee. Great-great nieces Lulu & Lexi Luna and Indie Webster. Great-great nephews Landon Luna, Raiden & Kai Webster.

To all of these she will be sorely missed.

Linda was preceded in death by her mother Pauline Lee in October 1991 and her father, Admal Lee in August 2019.
