Jack L. Brooks passed away under the care of hospice on December 17, 2023. Born on November 19, 1930, to Evelyn and Milton Yale Brooks in Salem, Oregon. He graduated from Salem High School in June 1948, where he was on the swimming team and played in the school band and orchestra.
Jack was a U.S. Navy and Marine Corp. reservist and served on active duty during the Korean War. He later attended Willamette University and was a member of the S.A.E. Fraternity. He then started a banking career, retiring as a Vice-President from Bank of America. During that time, Jack was active in many organizations, including past president of Kiwanis and Rotary, former Trustee of Delta Memorial Hospital and Commodore Bridge Marina Yacht Club. Jack is also a past member of Masonic Scottish Rite and Shrine. He is a life member of F. and A. Masons, Nevada City Lodge No. 13, and a current member of the Nevada City Elks Lodge No. 518.
Jack is survived by his wife of 63 years, Melisse Margie Brooks, his son Randy and his spouse Cheryl, his granddaughter Arianna and three step-grandchildren, Mitchell, Tyler, and Elizabeth Bruch.
At Jack’s request, there will be no services.
