The family of Thomas Warren Osborne Junior is saddened to announce his passing on February 1st in his hometown of Grass Valley, California. Tom was born November 29th 1938 in Grass Valley, CA to Thomas and Rose Osborne and lived in the area for 85 years. Tom was preceded in death by his wife, Jacqueline Osborne of 62 years.

As a young man, Tom owned and operated a logging truck prior to working for Empire Mine. He was then employed by Hansen Bros driving truck and retired from Grass Valley Ready Mix at the age of 55. Tom was passionate about his career and put in a hard long day’s work though, he never worked a day in his life. In retirement, Tom enjoyed hunting trips, fishing, and camping with his wife and family. He also loved playing cards and meeting new acquaintances along the way. Tom was an Honorary member of the Rifle Rod and Gun Club, Masons and Grass Valley Sons In Retirement (SIR).

Tom was known for remembering details, dates and telling stories from the past. Tom made friends with anyone he would meet and was loved by all.

Tom was the most selfless and kind man. The word stranger was not in Tom’s vocabulary.

Tom will be missed by his family, friends and loved ones!

Tom is survived by his Son, Richard Warren Osborne, Daughter, Carla Swanson, Brother, Charles Osborne and sister Patricia Stegan. Brother in Law Ken Wilson. Nieces and Nephews, Chip Wilson, Jennifer Osborne, Kate Osborne, Sarah Osborne, Tommy Osborne and Randy Stegan. Grand Children, Justin Swanson(wife Claire Swanson), Olivia Osborne, Annjane Osborne, Richie Osborne and Rachael Osborne. Great grandchildren Morgan Swanson, Brody Osborne, Everett Osborne, Jackson Devine, Warren Osborne, Hazel Reynolds and Jodie Devine.

Memorial service to celebrate Tom will be held this spring.
