Joyce Delyte Felce passed peacefully from this life at the age of 95 with her family members by her side on January 27, 2024, and Heaven received a new Angel.

She was born on March 2, 1928, in Ontario, California to Hazel Imbler Woodhead and Arthur Woodhead. She was raised in Delano and after high school attended Nazarene Bible College in Pasadena. She met and fell in love with her husband Reginald David Felce (Dave) while in college.

They were married in Bakersfield on September 22, 1946, and relocated to Grass Valley in 1947.

She was an Avon Lady for many years and made many lifelong friendships along the way. She was a homemaker, loved both flower gardening and helping with the family orchard and vegetable garden.

She will be remembered for her delicious Blackberry pies, homemade jams and wonderful sweet and dill pickles that she made. She loved to crochet and made many beautiful afghans and the sweetest baby receiving blankets.

She was a long-time member of Whispering Pines Church in Grass Valley and enjoyed many years attending church and the weekly Bible Study meetings. She was a resident of Sierra Pines Mobile Home Park for the past 13 years and looked forward to Wednesday night Bingo games.

She worked hard, had a loving heart and enjoyed helping others. She always had a beautiful smile and was fiercely independent right up to the very end. She was the sweetest person on this earth. She was loved by many and her passing will forever leave a huge void in our lives. We are comforted knowing that she has made her final journey home and is in the arms of her Lord and Savior and is at rest.

The family would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to Partners In Care for her amazing caregiver, Simba, who spent 5 years caring for her at home and also to Saddleback Loving Hearts Care Home in Auburn for the loving care she received in the last 9 months.

She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Melody and Joe Tate of Grass Valley; 7 grandchildren Clifford and Linda Peterson, Justin and Alice Felce, Christopher and Jen Tate, Jacob and Nicole Felce Jessica and Tim Dunn, Joy and Laurence Doyle, Janelle and Will Dunn; 10 great grandchildren Griffith and Evan Peterson, Jace Felce, Taylor Tate, Landon, Liam and Jasymne Doyle and Kaitlynn, Keegan and Hunter Dunn; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 65 years Dave, her parents, two brothers Elmer and Royal Harvey and her son Ronald Felce.

In lieu of flowers, please donate to Whispering Pines Church.

A private family burial has already taken place and plans are being made for a Celebration of Life service in the Spring.
