2/23/1947 – 04/20/2024

Tommy was born at the old Jones Hospital in Grass Valley on February 23, 1947 to Delroy and Barbara (Hall) Bonivert. He attended Hennessey School, N.U. Junior High School and graduated from Nevada Union High School with the Class of 1965.

He joined the United States Marines and served from 3/13/1966 to 3/13/1970. He was a proud veteran and belonged to the Elk’s Lodge.

He began working in law enforcement in February, 1973 where he started with the cities of Grass Valley and Nevada City as a Police Patrolman and then moved on to the Nevada County Sherriff’s Department in 1974 where he held the position of patrol, investigation sergeant, and obtained the highest rank of Sergeant when he retired on March 7, 1997.

He is survived by his wife Brenda Luz Bonivert and her family in the Philippines, his sister and brother-in-law Sue and Erne Young, two ex-wives, daughter Lisa, two grandsons C.J. and Will, dear friend Billy Mott, and many other close and dear friends.

He’s predeceased by his parents Delroy Bonivert and Barbara Alvis, nephew Howard Young and other uncles, aunts and cousins. We hope we have not forgotten anyone and if we did we are sorry.

Graveside Services with military honors will be held Wednesday, June 26th at 10:00 a.m. at Greenwood Memorial Gardens Cemetery, 10848 Rough & Ready Highway, Grass Valley.
