Laurita Claudine Peart Gray passed away peacefully on July 1, 2024 at her home in Nevada City, as she wished.

Laurita was born February 8, 1936 in Eugene, Oregon. She was very close to her grandparents, Troy Keller and Sadie Keller Miller.

She attended Nevada Union High School and graduated with the Class of ’54. In July of 1954, she married Lawrence “Larry” Gray. Together they had five children: Bethany (Britt) Ivey, Kim (Jim) Ashmore, Krista (Robert) Ackerman, Michael Gray, and Diane (Kevin) Wilkinson.

Laurita is survived by her husband, children, 17 grandchildren, 39 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.

Laurita worked in various fields of health care. She enjoyed dancing, square dancing, snow skiing, horseback riding, and gardening. She was very active in her church and served in many capacities.

Funeral services will be held at the L.D.S. Church, 615 Hollow Way, Nevada City, on Friday, July 12th at 10:00 a.m. with an open viewing at 9:00 a.m. Interment at Sierra Memorial Lawn Cemetery will immediately follow afterwards. All arrangements have been made thru Hooper & Weaver Mortuary.

Laurita will be missed.
