Shirley Ann Jonsson passed away on Aug. 5, 2024, in Folsom. She was 85 years young. She struggled for the last 10 years with dementia.
Shirley was born on Dec. 2, 1938, in Joplin, MO, to Velma and Guy Funk. When she was 10, the family moved to San Francisco to be closer to her older brother, Ken Funk and their grandchildren. She attended San Francisco State University and then went to work for UBS and was a success in stocks and finances. At the age of 40 she returned to the University to get her master’s degree in computer science. This is where she met the love of her life, Harold A. Jonsson, they were happily married for almost 30 years. They moved to Lake Wildwood after their retirement.
Shirley enjoyed golf, card games, cooking, playing the organ, and spending time with friends and family. She was a feisty, loving and generous person who was loved by all.
She will be deeply missed by her family.
I will be forever inspired by my guardian angel. I love you, Shirley. I know you’re with your “sweetie” now, Love Becky.
