February 8, 1943 – September 19, 2024

Connie Gaines passed away peacefully at her home in Grass Valley surrounded by loved ones on September 19, 2024 at the age of 81.

Connie Davis was born at Grass Valley Community Hospital, graduated from Grass Valley High School and went to work as a telephone operator at the age of 17 in Sacramento. Moving back to Grass Valley she was employed by Sierra Nevada Memorial Hospital for 44 years. She retired in 2013 as a nursing administration staffing secretary.

Connie was a devoted mother, grandmother and great grandmother. Her greatest joy was spending time with her family. She liked gardening, traveling, book club and playing card games. Connie is survived by her son Kevin Gaines, G.V.; grandchildren Kyle, Bradley and Kelsie Gaines; and five great grandsons; sisters Annette Kirkham, Carmichael; and Cathy Thompson, G.V.

Connie is preceded in death by parents, Jason and Hazel Davis of Grass Valley.

A Celebration of Life will take place for Connie at a later date.

Her family is grateful for the hospice care given to our beloved Nana for her end of life journey. Memorial contributions can be made to Hospice of the Foothills in Grass Valley, in lieu of flowers.
