Andrea was born on July 14, 1942, in Taft, California to John and Edna Stoll.
Her early years were spent in San Carlos, California, and her adolescence in Grass Valley, California. She graduated from Nevada Union High School in 1960, and married her high school sweetheart, Markam Stenger. She and Mark lived in Honolulu, Hawaii, Sacramento, and Sunnyvale, before settling in Ridgecrest, California, where they raised two sons. Andrea worked for Pacific Bell, helping to support the family while Mark earned his college degree. She earned her Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) degree in 1977 and dedicated nearly 20 years to serving patients at the Ridgecrest Community Hospital and also for the Drummond Medical Group as an Urgent Care nurse. She loved being a nurse, and her caring personality positively impacted the patients she served. She was married to her second husband, Ralph Angeles from 1980 through 1995. The following year, she retired from nursing and returned to her childhood home in Grass Valley. In retirement, she kept herself busy working as a school bus driver, and also part-time work at Carl’s Jr. restaurant. She volunteered regularly at the Cancer Aid Thrift Store in Grass Valley. She loved her church community at Peace Lutheran Church in Grass Valley. She was a dedicated mother and grandmother who enjoyed spending time with her family.
Andrea loved to listen to and play music. She played both piano and organ and had played organ for her church when she was in high school. Andrea had an appreciation for the outdoors and enjoyed camping, fishing, backpacking, and sailing. She loved antique stores, thrift stores, and yard sales, collecting many treasures through the years that she refurbished, repurposed, or just enjoyed. She loved animals and was particularly fond of cats. She had a green thumb, caring for and nurturing many plants, flowers, and vegetable gardens over the years. Andrea’s cooking was legendary, making most everything from scratch.
Andrea will be missed by all who knew her. She was a caring, and selfless person. She was dedicated to helping others in her career as a nurse and in her life.
She is survived by her son, Michael Stenger; son and daughter-in-law, Jeffrey and Marijoyce Stenger; and grandchildren, Gwendolyn Rudulph, Katherine Stenger, Michael C. Stenger, and Jonathan Stenger.
