August 21, 1952 – January 13, 2025
Deborah Ann Sinay was born in Canton, Ohio. At the age of 2 she and her family moved to California where they were seeking a new life & new adventures on the west coast. The family eventually settled in the Pasadena area, where Deborah attended Pasadena high school. She later went on to study accounting & bookkeeping and maintained a private bookkeeping business for several decades in Nevada county.
She migrated up from southern California to the bay area & then on to Nevada county in the 1980’s.
She married David Wills in 1992 & they had many adventures backpacking & camping in the sierras & the marble mountains. They also enjoyed numerous trips to Mexico.
Deborah will be remembered for her vivacious, spirited nature, her love of fun and adventure, her devotion to animals, and her whip-sharp intellect. She was a voracious reader and could converse on anything from politics to science to metaphysics to entertainment and history. She loved to hike, backpack, kayak, cook, & garden. The outdoors held a sacred place in her heart. She spent most of her life near the ocean & her beloved Sierra foothills.
Deborah leaves behind many friends, some of whom were friends of a lifetime. She will also be missed by her sisters Claudia & Alison & brother Doug; her nieces Kimberly, Rebecca, Meg, Jenny, Wendy, Anna, Deborah, Rachael, Katie, & many more. Her nephews Will, Wyatt, Jon, David, Jesse, & more. She also leaves behind her best friend & husband of many years, David Wills, who she remained close friends with till the end of her life.
Deborah faced her death from cancer with grace, gratitude, courage & peace. It was her next adventure & she was ready for it.
As we say goodbye to our beloved sister, aunt, friend, and companion, we find comfort knowing that her bright spirit and infectious laugh will shine in our hearts forever. Rest in peace, dear Deborah. You will be missed but never forgotten.
A celebration of life is planned for sometime in late spring.
