With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Cathleen “Cathy” Marie Wilkins Hart after a courageous battle with cancer. She was a fighter until the very end, facing every challenge with strength and resilience. Cathy was a beloved mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, and friend whose kindness and adventurous spirit touched the lives of many.
Cathy is survived by her loving children, Travis Wilkins, Collin & Christina Smith, and Samantha Sylvia, as well as her cherished grandchildren: Bryson, Annabelle, Brynlee, Serenity, Bybee, River, and Stu. She also leaves behind her mother, Gloria Ziegenhirt, and her siblings: Sherrie Hubert, Tracy & Jim Harlicker, Chris & Brenda McConnell, Jason & Elise Ziegenhirt, and Joshua & Jennifer Ziegenhirt.
Cathy found joy in life’s simple pleasures—traveling to visit family and friends in California, attending rendezvous (especially at Fort Buenaventura in Ogden), and supporting the American Legion Post 129 in Huntsville. She had a deep appreciation for holistic healing, crystals, plants, and embraced life with her free-spirited hippie gypsy soul.
A sentimental soul, Cathy found beauty in the little things and was a collector of keepsakes that held special meaning. Every trinket, crystal, and memento told a story, a reflection of the love and memories she cherished. She had a generous heart and was always willing to help those in need.
She is preceded in death by her fathers, Albert James Wilkins and Richard Ziegenhirt. She is now reunited with them and dear friends who have passed before her.
Cathy’s love, wisdom, and unwavering kindness will be dearly missed by all who knew her. Her spirit will live on in the memories she created and the lives she touched.
A Celebration of Life will be held at the American Legion in Huntsville UT on February 22nd at 4:00 PM.
An additional gathering will take place this spring at Fort Buenaventura, with details to be announced.
For her friends and family in Nevada City, CA, a separate Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
