It is with sadness that we announce that Robert (Bob) Hailer passed away on March 13, 2025 in Grass Valley. He was 95 years old.
Robert was born on March 7, 1930 in Boston, Massachusetts to Walter and Gladys (Kuntz) Hailer. They left Massachusetts when Bob was 3 and spent the majority of his life in the San Francisco Bay Area primarily in San Mateo and then Grass Valley. Bob graduated from Jefferson High School in Daly City in 1948, where he met and married the love of his life, Beverly Rowe in March 1949. Bob began his work career with PG&E in San Francisco and then was hired as a patrolman with San Mateo Police Department in 1952 and retired as a Sgt. after 30 years of service to that City. After retirement, travelling to various destinations (cruises), travelling to visit children and grandchildren, and genealogy research were enjoyed. In his later years, Bob enjoyed eating out at the various restaurants in Grass Valley and enjoying his glass of wine with dinner.
Robert is survived by his daughter, Julie Hailer of Las Vegas, and son, Mark Hailer (Leslie) of Minnesota and Grandchildren: Erick Patterson (Alysia), Emily Topel (Scott), William Hailer (Shannon), Emily Hailer (David), John Hailer (Chantel) and 8 Great-Grandchildren.
Robert was preceded in death by his parents Walter and Gladys Hailer, a brother Thomas Hailer, and beloved wife Beverly.
