Virginia Irlam passed away on December 23, 2019 in her home surrounded by her family. She was 94 years old. Per her request, there will be no services.
Virginia was born on January 2, 1925 in Toledo, Ohio. She worked for four years on cruise ships on Lake Michigan. She went to school at Toledo University where she was a Sorority Sister of Tri Delta Sorority. She received her degrees in English and Education. She moved to California with her husband Sam in 1961. She then worked for Montgomery Wards for 15 years, retiring in 1988.
Virginia loved to get out in the yard and garden. She enjoyed sewing and re-upholstering furniture. She loved DIY projects.
She is survived by her daughter Elizabeth Silva and four grandchildren: Samantha Slominski, Zach Silva, Jordan Silva and Katie Gurin.
She is preceded in death by her parents Edward and Helen Buettner, her daughter Suzanne Gurin and her brother Edward Buettner.
