William Gerald “Jack” Davis passed away on August 28, 2020.

Jack was born in Nevada City, CA on May 4, 1940 to Alyce Hollembaeck and Jack Davis. He was the oldest of four and shared a close relationship with his siblings Mary Todd, Louise Day, and Butch Davis. He married Dianne Hovan and had two children with her, Tony (Marianna) and Troy (Tracey) Davis. Later he married Patricia Wright and became the father to her two sons, JR (Viola) and Ron (Roni) Wright.

In his youth, his family moved to Elverta and then to Rio Linda, and Jack was able to play football at Grant High School.

Jack was a hard-worker, starting work at fifteen picking fruit for Joel Bierwagen. He helped to build Interstate 80 over Donner Summit. But what Jack was probably best known for was the business he ran with his wife, Patricia. Jack took over Frank’s Pizza when it was still a fledgling restaurant and went on to build it into a well-known local haven. People knew and loved Jack as the man behind the counter making pizzas. He and Pat loved watching their customers grow up and then watching the next generations come and join the Frank’s Pizza family.

He enjoyed traveling with his wife and though wasn’t able to travel as extensively due to an Alzheimer’s diagnosis, he thoroughly enjoyed the opportunities he had to visit Montana numerous times to visit their son.

Jack is survived by his wife, the four boys, and eight grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

There will be a private graveside service.
