Delores L. Trest passed away January 6, 2023 at the age of 85 due to Alzheimer’s disease.

Memorial Services will be held Friday, January 20th at 1:30 p.m. at Hooper & Weaver Mortuary, 459 Hollow Way, Nevada City, CA.

Dee was born September 23, 1937 to Johnnie Richardson and Jesse Bishop. She had two brothers and four sisters who all grew up in Grass Valley. She attended Nevada Union High School graduating in 1956. Dee married Joseph Beaida and had three sons and one daughter. She moved to Texas later in life to be close to her parents and spent 40+ years there. She moved back to California in 2013.

Dee drove a school bus for most of her life. She loved driving that bus and everybody loved her. She loved to crochet. Everyone in the family has something she handmade. As a kid she loved baseball and basketball. When she got older she loved nature and animals. Dee was a classy lady! She never met a stranger and was friends with everyone. She had a heart of gold and was the sweetest person ever.

She is survived by her daughter Beverly (Dave) Hughes of Auburn, sisters Anita Frazer, Donna Sauer, and Gloria Caselli all of Grass Valley and Susie Betz of Missouri, her long-time companion Wayne Kirk of Grass Valley, three grandchildren Darci and Jesse Beaida of Colorado, Brandee Hughes Smith (Carl) of Auburn, and three great-grandchildren Freya, Benni, and Laela.

She’s preceded in death by her parents, brothers John and Jim, sons Joel, Matthew and Amos Beaida and grandson Josh Flemming.
