Lucille Gordon passed away on February 16, 2023 in her home with her husband by her side.

A celebration of Lucille’s life will be held at Hooper & Weaver Mortuary, 459 Hollow Way, Nevada City on Friday, March 24 at 1:00 p.m.

Lucille Joyce Orzalli was born on March 6, 1933 at Jones Hospital in Grass Valley to John and Margaret Martini Orzalli. She attended Grass Valley schools and graduated from Grass Valley High School in 1952. Lucille married her life long partner Hugh Gordon on January 9, 1953 and recently celebrated their 70th wedding anniversary. During her high school years, Lucille enjoyed working at the Del Oro Theater as an usherette.

Lucille was a 39 year member of the Grass Valley Rifle, Rod and Gun Club Ladies Auxiliary. She enjoyed making pasties for many years with her friends in the Auxiliary. She volunteered at the Hospice Gift and Thrift Store on Zion Street and bowled for several years in a league at the Gold Bowl in Grass Valley. She was a long time standing member of the Grass Valley Ladies Relief Society and actively participated alongside her husband with Friends of Nevada County Military. Lucille’s greatest joy in life was being active in her children’s, grandson’s, and great grandkid’s lives.

She is survived by her husband Hugh Gordon, daughter Cindy (Keith) Kincheloe, son Greg (Mary) Gordon, grandsons Josh (Pam) Kincheloe, Ben (Melina) Kincheloe, Dustin (Carmen) Gordon, Brad (Becky) Gordon, Bryan (Tyler) Gordon and great grands Jacob, Liam and Samuel Kincheloe, Lydia, Natalee, Gabriella, Gregory, Ella and baby girl Gordon – due in May. Lucille is also survived by step-sister Jackie Foote, step-brother John Campbell, half-sister Gayle Bell and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Lucille was preceded in death by her parents John and Margaret Orzalli, brother Lorry Orzalli and stepfather
Grady Campbell.
