Frank Zangara, 93, of Grass Valley, entered heaven on February 28, 2023.

Born Francis Daniel Zangara on April 11, 1929 in New Providence, NJ, the son of Alfred and Adeline Zangara, younger brother to Anthony and Michael.

He married his grammar school sweetheart, Patricia, in 1948. He served in the National Guard while in New Jersey. Frank and Patty moved to Pasadena in 1949, where they started their family and Frank started his career as a machinist which included work on various parts for military aircraft – something he was proud of. He and his family moved to San Jose in 1963 and Grass Valley in 1972 where he would spend the remainder of his earthly life. He would have 70.5 years of marriage with his late wife Patricia.

He was a beloved father to Ron, Nanci, Vicky, Daniel and Steve, cherished Popa to Amy, Carrie, Katie, Jessica, Aric, Vincent, Adeline, Warren, Zackary, and Rocco, adored Great Grandpa to Josiah, Brooklynne, Rowan, Chloe, and Champ, and dear uncle and friend to many.

Frank will be remembered for his friendly, outgoing personality and caregiving nature. His stories, funny rhymes and songs will not be forgotten.

He loved to cook for people and had a magic touch in the kitchen. He was great at giving advice and was always willing to share “the right way” to do things. 🙂 Frank Zangara will be greatly missed.

A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, May 6 at 10:30 A.M. , in the Multipurpose Room at Crossroads Church, at the corner of Hwy 49 and Wolf Rd. 10050 Wolf Road, Grass Valley, CA 95949.
