Mary Zoe Surpenant Robison passed away July 4, 2023 in Grass Valley, CA.

She was born on May 11,1930 to LeRoy and Margaret Surprenant and grew up in Piedmont California. She attended UC Berkeley where she was a member of Kappa Kappa Gamma Sorority. She graduated with a BA in Bacteriology at Cal. She worked as a Licensed Clinical Medical Laboratory Technologist at Mercy General Hospital and then at UC San Francisco in a vitamin research lab. She married fellow Piedmont High School Highlander George A. Robison and raised a family in Pacific Palisades, CA. She had fond memories of summers spent at Camp Augusta on Lake Vera as a Camp Fire Girl and moved to Grass Valley in 1984.

She was a Master Gardener, volunteer at the Empire Mine Historic State Park, and a member of the California Native Plants Society. Tennis, golf, hiking, camping, fishing, gardening, and reading were her main interests during her lifetime.

She is survived by two sons, James Clay Robison of Laguna Nigel, CA and William Matthew Robison of Topanga, CA.

She was known as Zoe to her friends. She was a remarkable woman and loving mother who will be greatly missed.
