Kenneth Lee Brady, or Ken or Brady, was born on March 25, 1934, in Sewal, Iowa, to Fern L. Perdue and Kenneth L. Brady. Ken passed away at the age of 89 on June 24, 2023, in Grass Valley, California.

When Ken was young, his family moved to Southern California. He joined the Marines when he was 17 years old and was an active Marine for 30 years. Anyone who knew him, knew he was a “Marine”. He served his country with pride. He did five tours in Vietnam, including USMC Air Station Cherry Point, Quantico, Camp Hansen, Okinawa, and others. He also served one tour in Korea (USN). Stateside he was stationed at Camp Lejeune, NC, MC Air Station, El Toro, CA, 29 Palms, CA, and others. He was a ground radar technician and was an expert sharpshooter. He had many medals, including Vietnam Service Medal with 5 stars and the Vietnam Gallantry Cross.

Ken was given a military burial with a 21-Gun Salute.

He moved to Grass Valley in 1976, and then to Rough and Ready. He worked as a biomedical engineer at Sierra Nevada Memorial Hospital. He was also a member of the Marine Corp League, and a member of SAR, Sons of the American Revolution. Ken enjoyed collecting baseball cards and coin proofs.

Ken leaves behind his wife of 37 years, Dorene Brady of Rough and Ready; and his three sons: Robert of CO, Michael (DJ) of Bridgton, ME, and Jonathan (Christina) of Roseville; six grandchildren: Robie (Dan), Amanda (Chris), Alex, Jessica, Colton, and Olivia; and seven great-grandchildren Brandon, Makayla, Izzy, Cayden, Anthony, Devon, and Nicholas.

He was predeceased by his son, Daniel.
