Robert Cecil Angove, 74, of Grass Valley, passed away peacefully at home on February 18, 2024.

Funeral Services will take place at 10:00 a.m. Friday, March 1, 2024 at Hooper & Weaver Mortuary, 459 Hollow Way, Nevada City. Services will follow at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, 615 Hollow Way, Nevada City, CA, with a reception to follow. Private burial will take place at New Elm Ridge Cemetery, Grass Valley next to his parents.

Bob was born February 28, 1949 at Miner’s Hospital to Cecil and Minnie Bastian (Angove) both Grass Valley Natives. He graduated from Nevada Union High School in 1967. He married Karen Hansen on January 24, 1969. Bob began his career with Hooper & Weaver Mortuary in September of 1969 as a Cemetery Foreman. He worked for them for over 41 years, ending his career as a Funeral Director. He served the entire community of Nevada County in their time of need.

As a young man he coached Little League here locally and was a member of the J.C.’s (Junior Chamber of Commerce).

He joined the Free and Accepted Masons in 1988 becoming an active member of Nevada Lodge #13, F. & A.M. Nevada City. He was also a member of the Ben Ali Shriners where he actively participated as CiCi the clown.

He was highly involved in screening clinics here locally and in numerous counties helping children become qualified for hospital care with the Shriners. He also actively participated with the Job’s Daughters, Rainbow Girls and DeMolay’s.

In his spare time, Bob enjoyed traveling to the beach, the mountains, and camping.

He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Karen, his daughter Deborah (Silvano) Cicogni of Penn Valley, grandson Conner (Emma) Cicogni of Washington, sister Bonnie Outlaw of Oklahoma and numerous other relatives.
