May 3, 1945 to May 26, 2024

David Weslie Tripp went to be with his lord and savior Jesus Christ on May 26, 2024. He was 79 years old. David was a longtime Nevada County local, business owner, and a loving family centered man.

David was born on May 3, 1945 to his parents Arlie and Clara Tripp in Klamath Falls OR. In 1954 they relocated to Grass Valley CA where the family founded and began Tripp’s Auto Body.

David later married his wife, Sandy Bowers (Tripp), in 1964 at First Baptist Church in Grass Valley. Then in 1970, they welcomed their son, Todd.

David actively worked at Tripp’s Auto Body full time doing body work under his father until he stepped in as an owner and later co-owned the business with his brother, Darrol Tripp. He lead a productive and hardworking life of body work, and people management, until he eventually retired in 2010.

After his retirement, David could be found doing yard work, birdwatching, going out to eat, and especially loved tinkering with his classic car collection and preparing them for local car shows.

David is survived by his wife Sandy Tripp, son Todd Tripp, daughter in law Bobbi Tripp, three granddaughters Brittney Tripp, Rachel Norvell, and Taylor Tripp, along with three great-grandchildren.

David will be remembered as a hardworking man who worked diligently his whole life to provide a better future for the ones he loved most. His memory will continue on through his loved ones and the continuation of Tripp’s Auto Body.

A service will be held in memory of David at First Baptist Church on Ridge Road at 11am on June 29, 2024. Anyone who knew and loved David is welcome to attend.
