In Loving Memory of Calee Jo Johnson
It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Calee, who left us on June 6, 2024, at the young age of 16. Born on April 10th 2008 in Grass Valley, Calee was a bright light in the lives of all who knew her, bringing joy, love, and kindness to those around her.
Calee is survived by her parents: mother, Shea Johnson and father, Greg Callison and her devoted twin sister Baylee, her older sister Rylee, and her brothers Gregory and Kyler. She is also remembered fondly by her aunts, uncles, cousins, and many friends.
Calee had a funny, sarcastic sense of humor that always brought laughter to those who knew her well and sometimes shocked those who did not. She was tenacious and persistent, never giving up on an idea she believed in. Known for her mischievous nature as a notorious sock thief and aspiring body piercer, Calee was a true free spirit, even loving the coveted spot on the back of Billy’s Harley. She was fiercely loyal to her friends and always wanted those close to her to be happy.
Calee shared a one-of-a-kind bond with her twin sister Baylee. Their relationship was filled with shared secrets, endless laughter, and an unbreakable connection that only twins can understand.
She was actively involved in the FFA community and had a deep love for animals, especially her cherished cats, Bill and Susan and her pig, Fernando. An incredibly smart student, Calee consistently earned straight A’s and excelled in school. She was also very crafty, making beautiful earrings and creative paper mache animals. She was just learning to drive, and while she confidently declared herself ready for the road, her driving skills left her passengers, Shea and Billy, gripping their seats in terror and laughter. Calee’s memory will forever live on in the hearts of her family and friends. Her sweet nature, humor and spirit will be deeply missed but never forgotten.
A memorial service to honor Calee’s life will be held on Saturday June 29th at the Gladys Martinez Residence at 18699 Indian Springs Road in Penn Valley. The family invites all who knew Calee to join them in celebrating her life and cherishing the moments they shared with her.
Rest in peace, sweet Calee Jo. You will be deeply missed and always remembered.
Arrangements are under the direction of Hooper & Weaver Mortuary.
