In Loving Memory of Nancy Schaffner Daus

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Nancy on Friday, October 11, 2024 at her home in Roseville, CA. Nancy (or Mommu as she was affectionately called by her grandchildren) was a cherished wife, devoted mother, friend and grandmother… Born in 1934, she lived a life marked by her immense love for her family, her culinary talents, and her unparalleled needlepoint skills.

Nancy found joy in the simple things, whether it was perfecting a recipe, creating intricate needlepoint designs, or delighting in the rich taste of See’s chocolate. Her kitchen was always filled with the aroma of delicious dishes, a testament to her passion for cooking.

She was quite the jokester, always ready with a witty remark or a playful tease that brought smiles to those around her. Known for her stubborn spirit, she approached life with a tenacity and determination. Beneath that strong will was a heart overflowing with kindness and generosity.

In the last five years, Nancy bravely battled Alzheimer’s disease, facing each day with courage. Her strength during this difficult time was a testament to her resilience and the love she had for her family.

Nancy leaves behind her loving husband of 67 years, Ted, who was her steadfast partner and confidant. Together, they built a life full of love and laughter, facing each challenge hand in hand. She is also survived by her brother, Robert Schaffner, her adoring children, Terry, Robin, Lynne and Andy who will carry forward her legacy of love, and by her grandchildren, great grandchild, and large extended family and friends.

Her presence will be profoundly missed, but her memory will live on in the stories, the laughter, and the love she left behind. We find comfort in knowing that she is now at peace, reunited with those who have gone before her.

May her memory be a blessing to all who knew her.

Memorial services will be held on Friday, November 22nd at 11a.m. at Hooper and Weaver Mortuary at 459 Hollow Way, Nevada City, CA 95959.
