John Arthur Boudreau, Sr. “Papa” passed away October 27th at 1:30 p.m. at his home surrounded by his loving family. John was born on November 29, 1947 to Helen and Fred Boudreau on a sunny Saturday afternoon in South San Francisco. He grew up in Belmont CA and attended Carlmont High School where he met the most important person in his life, Karen Marie Clarke while watching his brother Rick play football. The following Spring, they were a couple, surrendering their hearts to one another. John’s family moved to a neighboring town where he graduated from Washington High School. Distance didn’t stop them from marrying in May of 1966. They loved and cherished each other for 58 years.

After graduating high school, John continued his education earning an AA degree and numerous certifications in food Science, culminating in a career as a Circuit Supervisor for the United States Department of Agriculture. He was fair but uncompromising in his commitment to food safety.

John and Karen loved to teach and coach football and cheer as a means to train numerous young people how to strive for excellence and become good men and women; including his children, John Jr., Carrie Marie and Matthew Ray. Papa had no higher priority than his family and extended his love of teaching and learning to his grandchildren Brooke , Travis, Jake, Lilu, Nick, Mia, Amy, Laura, Thomas, Logan and Barrett. Papa made a point to teach his children and grandchildren “Integrity and Honor”, a staple in his legacy that will forever be upheld by his family.

In his honor, a celebration of life will be held in the spring. In leu of flowers, John has requested donations be made to St. Jude’s Childrens’ Research Hospital or Shriners Hospital for Children.
