Beverly Jean Roberson Moncrieff, 84, passed away on October 25, 2024, in Sacramento, CA.
Born on January 12, 1940, Beverly dedicated her life to her family, her career, and her community.
A graduate of Sparks High School and holding degrees in Chemistry from University of Nevada, Reno, and a Masters degree in Computer Science from University of New Mexico, Beverly found her calling in technology. She had a successful career as a software developer and manager at IBM from 1977 until her retirement in 2000. Beyond her professional life, she was deeply involved in civic duties, having served as a California State Regent for the Daughters of the American Revolution organization and a local past president of AAUW.
Beverly was a devout member of St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Grass Valley, where her funeral mass and reception will be held on Thursday, November 21 at 10:30 a.m. A Rosary service will be November 20 at 4:30 p.m. at Hooper and Weaver Mortuary.
Known for her vibrant community spirit and love of nature, Beverly’s home in Grass Valley was warm and welcoming for family, friends, and neighbors. Her hobbies included exploring local flora and fauna, birdwatching, mastering the art of soup-making, and fermenting foods like sauerkraut and kimchee.
She leaves behind her husband of 62 years, Bob, her children Bobby, Catherine Shaffer, Jim, Michael, and Amy Cate, her grandchildren Jacob, Bobby Jr., Josiah, Eli, Shamus, Lanice, and Maya and a large extended family. Beverly was preceded in death by her brothers Jim Roberson and Wayne LeClure, and parents Jean and AC ‘Smoke’ Roberson.
Beverly’s life was marked by her unwavering commitment to her family, her passion for her career, and service to her community. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
